This is an English translation for your convenience. The Romanian version is the one that applies: read it in Romanian.

Who we are and how to reach us

The website werdnighoffman.ro is run by Asociația Werdnig Hoffman (the Werdnig Hoffman Association), referred to below as the “Association” or “AWH”, tax ID (CIF) 24623073, with its registered office at Str. Progresului nr. 28, Carei, jud. Satu Mare, 445100, Romania. AWH is the beneficiary of donations and of the amounts redirected through Form 230.

What these terms cover

These terms govern your use of the website, donations by bank transfer and by card, filling in Form 230 on the website and messages sent through the contact forms. They are supplemented by the “Privacy policy”, “GDPR and your rights” and “Cancellation and refunds” pages.

We are in the process of activating card payment through euPlătesc. Until then, you can donate by bank transfer, in lei or euros, to the Banca Transilvania accounts shown on the “Donate” page. The sections on card payment apply from the time card payment appears on the website.

Company sponsorships under Law no. 32/1994 on sponsorship and the Romanian Tax Code are made through a separate contract, which you can download from the website. The website does not process the data in these contracts.

What a donation is

A donation is voluntary financial support for AWH's statutory activities. You do not receive a product or service in return, and you do not become a member of the Association. There is no delivery, no shipping cost and no delivery time.

Donations made without a specific purpose support the Association's work, including the costs of carrying it out. If you donate to a specific campaign, we use the money according to the rules shown on the campaign page. If that purpose can no longer be achieved, we will offer you a refund or suggest another purpose, and we will not change how your donation is used without your consent.

Card donations

The card donation form is for people aged 18 or over. If you donate on behalf of an organization, you must be entitled to represent it. Use only a card you have the right to use. We may refuse or refund a transaction if there are signs of an error, fraud or unauthorized use of the card.

• •You review the amount and currency and accept these terms using the box provided, which is not checked in advance.
• •You are taken to the secure euPlătesc page, where you enter your card details and confirm the payment through the authentication your bank requires (3-D Secure), if applicable.
• •The result of the payment appears on the screen, and a confirmation is sent to the email address you provided.

Payments are processed by euPlătesc, a service provided by EuroPayment Services S.R.L. We accept the Visa and Mastercard cards shown in the payment form. Card details are entered only on the euPlătesc page, over an encrypted connection. AWH does not see or store your card number or CVV/CVC code and will never ask you for them by email or phone.

AWH does not increase the amount you choose and does not add any fees. The Association pays the processing fee. Your bank may charge its own fees or apply an exchange rate if your account currency is different from the payment currency.

A donation is confirmed only after euPlătesc reports the result of the transaction. If the payment was declined or you are not sure whether it went through, check your email and bank statement before trying again, so you are not charged twice.

Monthly donations

If the form offers a monthly donation, the donation repeats only if you explicitly choose that option and authorize future payments. A one-time donation does not become a monthly one. Before you confirm, you see the amount of each payment, how often it is charged and the date of the first charge, and the confirmation email tells you how to stop the donation. We do not change the amount or frequency without a new authorization.

You can stop future payments at any time, free of charge and with no minimum period, as described in “Cancellation and refunds”. A declined monthly payment does not leave you owing anything to AWH.

Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel your donation before you authorize the payment. After you are charged, you can ask for a refund of a card donation within 14 calendar days, as a courtesy offered by the Association. We review mistaken, duplicate or unrecognized payments even after this period. The procedure is described in “Cancellation and refunds” and does not limit your rights under the law.

Redirecting your income tax with Form 230

With Form 230 you can direct up to 3.5% of your income tax to AWH, under the conditions set by the Tax Code. You do not pay anything extra and you do not use your card: ANAF (the Romanian tax authority) calculates the amount and transfers it out of the tax you owe anyway. Having AWH collect and file your form is free of charge.

On the “Form 230” page you fill in your name, your father's initial, your personal code (CNP), your home address, your email and, optionally, your phone number, choose whether the redirection applies for two years and sign on the screen. Your browser fills in the official form for the year shown, and when you submit it, the form is sent to the Association by email. You can download a copy. Fill in only your own details.

If you prefer paper, download the form, sign it and email us a scan, then send us the original by post or bring it to our registered office.

You decide whether you agree that ANAF may share your name, CNP and the amount directed with the Association, and whether you redirect for two years: neither box is checked in advance, online or on the paper form prepared by AWH, and this consent is optional.

AWH compiles the forms it receives and files them electronically with ANAF in the summary statement (“Situația centralizatoare”) provided for in ANAF President's Order no. 103/2025 (the ANAF order on Form 230), no later than May 25 of the year after the one in which you earned the income. For income earned in 2026, the deadline is May 25, 2027. It may no longer be possible to file a form that is incomplete or arrives too late; if that happens, we will let you know. We keep the forms we receive and make them available to ANAF on request, as the procedure requires.

The confirmation on the website shows that your form has reached the Association, not that it has been filed with ANAF or that the amount has been transferred. The 3.5% cap applies to all your redirections combined, and AWH does not guarantee a particular amount or transfer date. If you made a mistake or change your mind, write to us as soon as possible. The 14-day refund does not apply to Form 230.

Personal data and communications

We use your data only for the purposes described in the “Privacy policy”. A donation or a Form 230 does not sign you up for a newsletter and does not mean you agree to have your name or the amount published. Messages about your payment or form, and our replies to your questions, are not marketing communications.

Using the website and liability

Use the website lawfully, without interfering with its security or operation. The texts, photos and videos belong to AWH or to the rights holders named and may be reused only with their consent or where the law allows.

There may be interruptions for maintenance or for technical reasons, which we fix to the extent they are within our control. We do not guarantee that third-party services, such as banks, the payment processor or ANAF, will run without interruption, and nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Complaints and dispute resolution

If you have a problem, email us at [email protected] with a short description and, if you have it, the donation reference. We reply within 5 business days; requests close to the Form 230 deadline take priority. Requests about personal data follow the time limits on the “GDPR and your rights” page.

We try to settle any disagreement amicably. This does not prevent you from contacting the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC, anpc.ro), the data protection authority or the competent courts. Romanian law applies.

Changes to these terms

The date of the latest update appears at the top of the page. Changes do not alter the terms of donations already made, and an active monthly donation does not change without your consent. On request, we will send you the version of the terms that applied on the date of your donation.
